NextGen Sonar Cup – now open for entries

The inaugural LBCC Next Gen Sonar Cup is open for entries. Organised by the Island Sailing Club, Cowes, go racing on Friday 11th September against eight other ISC Sonar keel boats and their crews. Created for the industry’s Next Gen community, and ideal for beginners and novices, crews can experience sailing and network with industry professionals.

It will be fun. It’s sailing with others. Individual places are available as well as bookings for groups or corporate crews. Bookings are limited as there are only nine boats available.

It’s for the NextGen. To qualify, you have to be under 40 years old and work in the Property and Construction industry. The exception is that the skipper can be any age and from any industry but to keep it fair, professional racing skippers aren’t allowed to helm. On Wednesday 25th Feb 2026 from 5.30pm til 9.30pm, we are meeting up for drinks and networking at the Royal Ocean Racing Club, RORC, St James. Green Park. Chill out with the volunteer regatta team, and find out what we are organising for you this year, what monies we have raised for the amazing sailing charities, and hear about the launch of the new Next-Gen one-day sailing regatta which will run alongside the Little Britain Challenge Cup – our 39th Edition.

Note: Little Britain is on 11 & 12 September this year. Get your boat entry in.

Announcing, imminently, the one-day regatta, on Friday 11th September, Cowes, Little Britain racing for Next-Gen sailors from the construction and property industry. No experience necessary. Experienced skippers will be provide. An uber exciting day out on the water. Sail in a matched fleet of 21ft keel boat Sonars in white-sail racing [no spinnakers]. Afterwards, join the Little Britain Challenge Cup teams for drinks and networking at the Island Sailing Club.

2026 Little Britain Chairman

A big thank you to our 2026 Chairman, Rob Klaschka, of Evrbilt, Measured 3D surveyors. A multi-decade long-time committed and dedicated LBCC volunteer whose racing experience keeps giving us a great sailing regatta each year. He leads the volunteer regatta team for the third year and will bring us all together for our 39th Edition of Little Britain Challenge Cup. Everyone is welcome.
