When Little Britain Challenge first started it was a cruising event. Over the years its transformed to be largely dominated by IRC racing. We wanted to reinvigorate the cruiser class. With Island Sailing Club as the current race organiser cruising class is rated under the self-certified ISCRS, in fact if you have sailed in the Round the Island Race with white sails in the last two years Island sailing club will already have your rating. The effect is that the event is no longer subject to the cost and inconvenience of purchasing an IRC certificate for one event in the calendar if you’re in cruiser class. This makes bringing your own boat to Little Britain Challenge one of the simplest and most cost effective ways to attend LBCC.
Sailing your own boat at the event is the most economic option available:
For a crew of six staying onboard an owner driver boat
Entry for a 40ft boat, £995+VAT
Meal tickets for 6 at the event £300+VAT
Total £1,295+VAT or just £225/head for two days of racing and networking.
Bringing a chartered cruiser can also be a good value option:
For a crew of six staying onboard an owner driver boat
Entry for a 40ft boat, £995+VAT
Charter cost for a 40ft Bavaria
Meal tickets for 6 at the event £300+VAT
