Sailing and Apres Sail activities and times for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be confirmed in the new year.

THURSDAY 7th SEPTEMBER 2023/ PRE-REGATTA DAY

  • From 1600h – Berths at Shepards Wharf Marina are available for Little Britain boats.
  • Berthing costs are included in the LBCC entry fee.
  • From 1730h1930h, register early with the Regatta Team at the Island Sailing Club. Have a beer or a G&T there. Collect your registration pack early.
    Then meet on the apres sail pub trail via the Fountain Inn, Pier View, the Anchor, the Duke of York on route back to Sheppards Wharf Marina, your accommodation or restaurant.
  • The Island Sailing Club (ISC) warmly welcomes Little Britain crews to their bar and restaurant.
    You are invited to book a table for supper in advance directly with ISC. The views from the clubhouse and balcony are fabulous.
  • All crews to make own arrangements for crew suppers on Thursday and Friday evenings.
  • NOTE: Saturday evening BBQ at RORC, book tickets and your drinks packages via the link on the website.
  • Practice races on Thursday will not be organised.

 


  • FRIDAY  8th SEPTEMBER 2023
  • DAY ONE
  • REGATTA OPENS
  • 08:00 Regatta office opens for registration.
  • The Regatta office is located in the marina. Location – tba.  Call 07715 748764 if you are challenged!
  • Register your arrival before taking part and collect your registration pack which includes
    race chart, entry-pass wristbands, regatta race pennant, (NOR and SI’s are all online/ download and have a back up), & recycling waste /bin liners – which is part of our eco-regatta requirement.
  • Early registration is available on Thursday pm at ISC. From 1730h to 1930h – the bar and views are very nice indeed.
  • Bow stickers won’t be provided this year due to sustainability reasons, i.e. Single use plastic, littering, and waste.  Boats will be identified by their sail numbers.
  • BYO, bring last year’s LBCC regatta pennant to save resources.  However new ones will be available and provided at registration.  The LBCC regatta pennant must be flown on the back stay, and if a backstay is not available, should be flown on the starboard mast-stay.  The pennant is to identify your participation in the racing.
  • The large battle flags previously provide will not be available this year for sustainability reasons, i.e. single use and plastic waste.
    Please note you are still required to bring your class number pennant.Class splits will be announced on Thursday 7th September or before.
  • 0900h Skippers’ briefing by the Principal Race Officer, and  Ollie Thomas, LBCC Race Director.  Briefing location will be  on the pontoon next to Queen Galadriel.
  • 1055h Race 1 first warning signal for racing AND cruising classes.
  • Start sequence TBA
  • Race 2 to start as soon as possible after Race 1.  Lunch onboard.
  • Onshore teams are invited to use the Island Sailing Club facilities during the day. There is an excellent viewing platform. Regatta Entry passes [LBCC wrist bands provided] will allow you in.

 

  • After Racing.  APRES SAIL
  • 1600h PONTOON PARTY – Introductory networking on the pontoons and marina pier.  Complimentary Cocktails sponsored by Gunners will be provided.
  • Due to bar and licencing restrictions, there will be a self-service complimentary drinks servery. Drinks will include beer, lager and ale, wines, and soft drinks.
    Charity fundraising activities will be held at the marina, and your support and donations will be most welcome.
  • If you have the munchies, the tasty burgers will be served, sponsored by Southside Waterjet [the Stone cutters]. Please give generously to the charities who are fundraising at the marina.

 

  • Race Results will be published on the LBCC website and on the marina regatta notice board
  • All crews and entries are to make their own supper arrangements for Friday evening.
  • Tickets for Saturday BBQ at RORC will need to be booked online.
  • Post supper networking opportunities in the Anchor Inn, Vectis Tavern, Pier View and the Fountain Inn.  There is a live band at the Anchor till late.

 


  • SATURDAY 9TH
  • REGATTA DAY TWO
  • 0730h Regatta office opens.
  • 0800h Skippers’ briefing by the Principal Race Officer and LBCC Race Director.  Location: Queen Galadriel.
  • 0925h TBA Race 3, first warning signal.  T
  • Race 4 to start as soon as possible after previous. Crews to lunch on board.
  • Race 5 to start as soon as possible after race 4.
  • After Racing.  APRES SAIL
  • 1600h – 1800h PONTOON PARTY – Social gathering on the pontoons and marina pier. Drinks only.
    Complimentary Cocktails sponsored by Gunners will be provided.

  • 1900h BBQ at Royal Ocean Racing Club.  Arrive.
  • 1930h Trophy presentations of the Little Britain Challenge Cup winner and class winners,
    plus winners announced for races 3, 4, & 5.
  • 2000 – 2130h  Saturday crew BBQ feast at the Royal Ocean Racing Club.

  • Dress code: Informal. Last servings 21:15
  • 2100h Music
  • Midnight/ 0000h Bar closes.

    All crews requested to depart from marina before 12noon, or book and extend your stay with the marina office.
