Regatta Programme

This year we have another fun packed programme of events on and off the water during the regatta. As always, we’ve made some small changes based on last years event and our competitors feedback so please take the time to read this years programme.

Thursday 12th September, pre-regatta day
1600 Boats arrive at Shepard’s Marina.
1730-1930 Early registration and collection of your teams entry pack at the Island Sailing Club and then have a beer in the ISC bar with stunning views of the Solent. The Island Sailing Club warmly welcomes Little Britain crews to their bar and restaurant, but booking is recommended.
Later, meet the other crew on the High Street pub trail via the Fountain Inn, Pier View, the Anchor, the Duke of York on route back to Shepard’s Marina, your accommodation or restaurant.

Friday 13th September, race day one (2 planned races)
0800 Final registration and collection of your teams entry pack at the Sugarstore in Shepard’s Marina for boats that have not already registered.
0900 Skippers’ briefing by the Principal Race Officer, and Ollie Thomas, LBCC Race Director at the Sugarstore or on the hard outside.
1055 Race 1 first warning signal for racing and cruiser classes with other races following as soon as possible afterwards.
During racing, onshore teams are invited to use the Island Sailing Club facilities during the day. There is an excellent viewing platform. LBCC wrist bands will allow entry.
1600 Pontoon Party with honesty bar and dirty burgers with networking on the pontoons and at the Sugarstore. Due to bar and licencing restrictions, there will be a self-service complimentary drinks servery. Drinks will include beer, lager and ale, wines, and soft drinks. Charity fundraising activities will be held at the marina, and your support and donations will be most welcome.
Day 1 race results will be published on the regatta notice board.
1900 Royal Yacht Squadron Dinner – Limited spaces for racing crews only.
All other crews and entries are to make their own supper arrangements for Friday evening.
Post supper networking opportunities in the Anchor Inn, Vectis Tavern, Pier View and the Fountain Inn. There is a live band at the Anchor till late.

Saturday 14th September, race day two (3 planned races)
0800 Skippers’ briefing by the Principal Race Officer, and Ollie Thomas, LBCC Race Director at the Sugarstore or on the hard outside.
0925 Race 3 first warning signal for racing and cruiser classes with other races following as soon as possible afterwards.

1900-1930 Prize giving and award of the Little Britain Challenge Cup to the 2024 winner, the class winners, the greenest boat trophy and the ladies boat trophy.
Event results will be published on the regatta notice board.
Regatta village closes at 2000.

Sunday 15th September, homeward bound
Boats depart Shepard’s Marina by 1200. If you wish to stay longer you must extend your stay by making enquiries at the marina office.
